With the holidays over and the new year well underway, it couldn’t be a better time for you to get out and be active in your local community. There are many activities to take part in, and many events to attend in your local area. To help you get started, here is a list of activities in the Swansea, MA area that might interest you!

January Writing Marathon

If you’re a writer and looking for a group to help edit, then the January Writing Marathon located at The Village Works, 202 Washington Street Brookline, MA 02445, is the event for you. Whether you’re working on a book, blog, business plan or resume, all writing is accepted. The event will help local writers connect with like-minded individuals in their local area. The Writing Marathon will be taking place on January 16, 2018, and run from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm EST.

A Night of Spirits

Located at 230 2nd Street, Fall River MA 02721, at the infamous Lizzie Borden’s Bed & Breakfast with Spirit Medium Tiffany Rice. This event takes place on January 21 at 4:00 pm, and features a tour of the historical house and dinner and refreshments. The readings will occur at 6:00 pm and go to 8:00 pm. Less than 25 tickets are available, so you’ll have to move fast!

Mardi Gras Celebration

The CFP Mardi Gras Celebration is back on February 10, offering New Orleans tunes from DJ Jazzbo and live music by The New Forty. The celebration will take place at the Community Hall, located at 933 Anthony Road Portsmouth, RI 02871. Tickets will be priced at $20 and all proceeds will benefit the Common Fence Point Community Hall.

Prizes will be offered for the most Mardi Gras spirit and there will be a selection for a King and Queen to lead the event’s parade. For more information contact Rose at 401-824-4239 or Conley at 401-484-3972.
